The golden eyes looked at her softly, and yet they burned into her as if the Heavenly Fire itself. Now it seemed that she knew every scar on his ivory skin, every feather on his mighty wings that shone like molten gold. No... I couldn't be the truth. A demon had saved me after they left me to die. A demon had raised me as his own. And a demon was the one whom my heart had called the first time our eyes met. My home was Purgatory, I despised Idris. A shadowhunter had destroyed his own kin, and yet few still remained. Me included. And though there were still angels. She was bound to the one I held the most dear. It seemed whatever I had wanted of that matter, the destiny decided otherwise. Perhaps then it was for the best. If not the Destiny, I would have never met Belial after all, just like my uncle would have never met her. In Destiny we trust, as it canno be changed.
