Ocean Park, a red band society inspired story. Maddy, it's her second year of high school, life is going good, what could possibly go wrong? I mean, apart from her sister practically living in hospital on the verge of death and an abusive, alcoholic, neglecting mother always on her back, nothing could go wrong, right? All she could hope for is to meet some friends and for her sister to stop hanging out with this bad influence, Annabelle. Mabye all her wishes will come true some day.

Loving him was like that feeling you get when you're listening to Stubborn Love by the Lumineers, or the way honey looks when it's in the sun and has a golden shine to it. It was a warm and perfectly broken place to be. Loving him was like a Radical Face song blaring from the radio on a summer afternoon. Loving him felt like standing on a rooftop and yelling to the sunrise on a Spring morning. Loving her was like that feeling when you wake up on the first warm day of Spring and you can practically smell the warm air. It was like being in a Radical Face song that never ended. It was like walking again. Loving him was like a Bon Iver song on a spring morning. Loving her felt like freedom from sickness and the way the waves lapped over the beach, washing all other cares away.
