[Republished] I tried writing everything's that's on my mind here and reveal my true self to the world, because that was something that's too hard for me to do. Here, I am trying to show you my story and maybe try to help other people who are like me. Sometimes I want to unpublish this book because I feel like I show too much of myself here; so much that I feel so embarrassed and vulnerable. I've never had mustered up enough courage to talk about my feelings, opinions and problems to other people no matter how close they are to me. This is a wonder of writing I guess, you can fully take off your mask without feeling too vulnerable to show a raw, bare, unfiltered and true version of yourself. ❛❛Memories and Melodies, stories that sound absurd. I will tell no lies~ - Rear view: Zayn Warning: I've addressed issues such as self-loath, aneroxia, body dysmorphia, suicidal thoughts, self image and self esteem issues, and other such toxic issues which might be triggering for some people. Please read at your own risk. Contains foul language.

The excitement that surrounds us in every minute of our life is usually drowned out by the redundancies of our routines. In "Life" I attempt to project the way we live our lives with a new twist that sheds light on just how much we miss by simply wondering off and focusing on completing the check list that is our daily life.

Y/N has always kept to herself to avoid others from discovering her abilities. After a night she would rather forget, S.H.I.E.L.D. gives Y/N two choices: stay at a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility to be monitored, or stay with the Avengers to be monitored. She reluctantly chooses the latter. While learning new skills, Y/N faces the challenge of navigating the meaning of family after years of detachment from others. Then, when an old threat familiar to both the Avengers and Y/N reappears, she is given the ultimatum of helping or hiding. Despite the unknown, Y/N places herself in the world of superheroes and finds her purpose may be more than what her parents had her believe. *** [1st person POV] NOTES: Follows a timeline where Hydra is still active after 2014 (CA:WS), Avengers didn't break up after Civil War, and takes place ~one year after Bucky's return from Wakanda.

In these collected stories I've tried to explore the lives of dysfunctional characters, some based on case studies that I read from the works of psychotherapists, particularly Alfred Adler and Sigmund Freud, while I was reading for my degree in philosophy and psychology but, more so, from my observation of troubled people in true life, though via an imaginative leap to the fictional characters. In places, sometimes remote, there is a distinct sense of 'presence' if not ghosts but the 'Cupboard of Skeletons' is more a euphemism for people with dark or embarrassing secrets which haunt and test their lives and how the characters challenge fate and, against all odds, find something of their dreams. Cupboard of Skeletons reflects my fascination with dysfunctional characters in family life who may find that if life is a struggle, however dire it may become, it really is still better to try and fail than not to try at all; so that if the end to a novel is not happy - in a sentimental sense - the book judged as a whole should be affirmative of life, uplifting. Reviews: "The author gives great voice to his characters, describing well their idiosyncrasies. A good story must either go deep or wide, and with Nickford's background in psychology he goes deep within the human condition. For some adults, the ability to relate to a child does not come naturally, and requires enormous if not awkward effort. This is an often overlooked subject worth exploring" - Stephen Valentine - author of Nobody Rides for Free "The characters, the settings, the story; emotional, intriguing, full of human interest." - Andrew Wright, author of Sanctuary's Loss The complete collection is available on : https://www.amazon.com/Cupboard-Skeletons-Storm-Clouds-Pass-ebook/dp/B00BTJZYI4/

Nobody understands, nobody wants to hear. Some people listen but it's hard to get the point across properly when all the thoughts going on at the same time are hard to differentiate and form into a single thought process to say out loud. Most will say there's nothing wrong because everything seems fine, words are forming in full sentences, demeanor seems normal, and feeling so sad is normal sometimes. If there were a way to explore a sick mind that looks normal from the outside, would it be worth the effort to try to understand? If there were some way to see through the eyes of someone with psychological struggles that are hard to explain and virtually invisible, wouldn't it be easier to interact with and help those people? Sick like us is the first piece of a collection of allegories that are meant to bridge the communication gap between a less common perspective and a world that can't comprehend such an inconspicuous illness.
