The hospital doors burst open as a stretcher rushed down the corridor. White lights. Rushed footsteps. Nurses shouting instructions. Phuwin lay motionless while his mother ran beside the bed, her cries echoing through the sterile halls begging, praying, breaking. Just minutes earlier, Pond had walked out of that house. Now he stood frozen, watching the boy who never asked for help slip beyond his reach. Phuwin has always carried grief in silence.
