It happened in August. One morning she was here, laughing and singing by his side, and the next morning, she was gone. It took a single day for her to disappear, for her to leave an empty space in their apartment and in his heart. Her smell still lingered over the towels of the bathroom, the covers of their bed she had neatly folded, that last morning, still laid untouched on her side, and the flowers she had put in a vase on the dining table were slowly withering away. He had never seen it coming, that she would be gone so fast. He never expected that she could vanish from his life the way she had appeared, so suddenly and unexpectedly. No one lives on the island anymore. But plagued by a lack of sleep and an unshakable feeling of wrongness, its last visitor begins to question whether they are really alone.

*Updates every Friday!* The war is over. It left behind torn up families and scarred orphaned children. Severus Snape was on the brink of death when Dumbledore's fire Phoenix found him, grasping for life. He was sent to St. Mungo's to heal but nothing was enough to heal the scars done to his soul. After three months of intense therapy, he was sent back to live in his house but requested that no one knows he was still alive. The war took a toll on him, made him depressed, heart broken, torn and wished he was never rescued. Only one magical book will be his connection to the outside world. Almost dying can change a person. For most it pushes them to live life to the fullest; for Ryan, it lets him hear voices and see ghosts. After a fatal car crash, Ryan Hubbard wakes up hearing a voice in his head that isn't his own. It wants him to find something--someone. As if that isn't the worst of his problems, he can see ghosts too. Naturally, he tries telling people about his new abilities. And just as naturally, no one believes him. When Ryan gets dared to go into a supposedly haunted house, he almost refuses. But curiosity gets the best of him when something inside him (specifically, the voice) tells him to go. He wasn't exactly hoping to find anything inside-least of all the diary of a dead little girl and the sudden urge to find her killer. I've heard voices for as long as I can remember. They urge me to do things - dark, horrible, twisted things. It isn't until my eighteenth birthday that I learn something that both explains this phenomenon, and adds more question. The bodiless personalities are either angels, or demons. This epiphany doesn't worry me; what really frightens me is that the demons are stronger. © L. D. Nash
