The remaining scientists managed to find a cure but its price rose to 10 times what an average family makes in the entirety of their lives. With 10 billion people and the majority of them extremely poor many are willing to do anything to survive. And that is what the tv game agony is offering .A shot at winning back their lives. 20 people willing to die for a chance to live. To win the cure you must kill everyone on sight. And 18-year-old Aja will do whatever it takes before the poison reaches her veins.
