A made up story on what the 101st Cadet Corp was like, two best friends Marie Barr and Alexander Ackerman join the cadet Corp in hopes of being a scout. On the way they meet more friends. Fast forward to year 845. Wall Maria has been breached and all of the trainees need to defend the citizens of Shiganshina until most have escaped. When Marie and Alexander go to meet up with the Garrison to see how things are doing, they meet little Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert.
