This is a very short fanfiction dedicated to Maven and Mare set in the timeline at the start of the glass sword . This contain some spoilers to the series . It decipts Maven's decision to go after Mare after the end of Red Queen .

Mare sacrificed herself to save her friends and family. But now she's stuck with the devil in the Kings Cage and can't escape. In Victoria Aveyard's 3 book King's Cage this is how I think it will play out.
