I wanted to enter a story into Reedsy's weekly writing contest, but apparently there is an age limit for that. So, I'm going to write a story for a Reedsy prompt every week and post it here. This book contains story stories based on prompts that I have seen online or entered in a contest. Some prompts would be from ReedsyPrompts, so the story would be an original but the idea was from their site: blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts

Reload is a flash fiction about what humanity would do with the ability to manipulate other planets. The theme of Reedsy's weekly short story contest on August 31st was flash fiction, meaning the story had to be under 1500 words. This piece was inspired by my astronomy class. Prompt: "I'll be brief," they said, and you knew it meant a speech was coming.

SHORT STORY "One star. Again." I sighed and put a box of robot parts on the shelf. The screen hovered a second longer in front of my head, reminding me I'm not good enough. Then it disappeared... "As I gazed up at the stars, the chaotic sounds from the party started to fade away, and were replaced by the soft hum of crickets. I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief at the sound. 'How do you handle it?' Jacob asked suddenly. I turned to face him. 'Being the girlfriend of Harrison? I've been in your situation before, and I know it's not easy.' I sighed, wanting to change the topic. I fidget with a sprig of grass sprouting in the cracks of the road. 'Well, you know, I love 'em, so I deal with it.'" This was inspired by a prompt on Reedsy Enjoy :)

So these are all on Reedsy but because some of you guys don't go on that website, I will post all of them here too. These stories are short but very good and mysterious. These are all mine and I will be giving the prompt I used along with the official contest number.

This short story was entered into the Reedsy weekly prompt contest under the prompt "Start a story with "We have plenty of time" and/or end It with "we were never going to make it."" In this story a woman's 7 year journey to become a mother comes to an end. Does she have plenty of time before the baby arrives?

Fiction, fantasy, contemporary, and a mix of emotions. This is a collection of short stories I've written over the years to help improve my writing. Some of these range from sad to happier. Most deal with growth. I also threw in a few silly ones so it didn't get too sad, but be aware that these do contain gore, violence at times, suicide, grief, and a few others that I might have missed. Some of them are original works, and some are from contests or Reedsy prompts.

Tom and Sue live everyday taking every precaution. One morning they are awaken by their new eccentric neighbours. Devin is a high-school student that ended up leaving early from school for unknown reasons. When they are were walking on the side-walk, they heard something drop on the grass from a tree next to them, and it was labeled 'Devin'. . .

This is a collection of my short stories (approx. 1k words per story) made for weekly prompts/contests, mostly for Reedsy. I will update it every time I write a new one, and I hope you enjoy these different, exciting stories.
