With a horrific and unforgettable past for Makenzie, by her parents who made her live hell and she doesn't get too close to anyone. Everyday is a struggle for 26 year's old Makenzie Farrar, with her friends who live on a farm, doesn't make it any easier for her. When she unexpectedly stumbles upon another group, she meets the people who she finally she belongs with, her family. As the group fight to survive with the many challenges what have to be faced, Makenzie soon realizes she has fallen for a outsider of the group know as Daryl Dixon, a redneck with a crossbow at hand. No matter how hard she tries she seems to have more feelings for that redneck. What will happen between them? The main thing, will she eventually forget her past and being to trust the group? This a story with many things: romance, tragic, but most important key of all, surviving!
