It's been six years since Emma Swan died. 72 months. 2,191 days. Six years, and Regina thinks about her every minute, every second, every breath. Constant. She can still hear the six, haunting, deafening clock chimes that rang out mere seconds after Emma's life ended. Finished. How did Emma Swan die? It's quite the story. TRIGGER WARNING: Major character death! Obviously. This is an ANGST-HEAVY story. If angst is not your cup of tea, I would not recommend this fic. This fic deals with some dark heavy stuff, including: drug use, some strong language, and a form of death you may not like. (No spoilers!) Set eight years after the season six finale. The prologue and epilogue are set six years after THAT. Emma and Regina are in an established marriage. Henry is a big part of this because.....I love him and he deserves recognition. Set loosely in season 7, a dark curse carries Storybrooke's residents to Hyperion Heights, wiping their memories--everyone except Emma. Beaten down by her husband, she'd moved away four years ago, breaking Regina's heart along with her. When Emma realizes her mistake and tries to find her family, Regina's gone, replaced by Roni's persona: a spunky bartender who helps Emma pick through her psychological damage...and maybe falls for her along the way, too. However, things may be more complicated than they seem ... - EXCERPT: Emma Swan wanders the newly abandoned, hidden town of Storybrooke that once was her home only four years ago. The cruel Maine wind slices at her cheeks and stings the tears in her eyes as the panic inside of her grows. Chest heaving, she stumbles towards her old mailbox. Something tells her to open it, and she complies, the metal hinges squealing in protest. At first glance, it looks as though nothing is inside, but the same invisible force tells Emma to look again. This time, she finds a weather-beaten postcard. The front shows a picture of a Seattle cityscape, and below it are words spelling out: "Greetings from Hyperion Heights." She flips to the back, revealing two words written in a childlike scrawl that send chills down Emma's spine. "Help us." A beat passes; then a new strength blossoms in Emma's chest as she straightens and places the postcard in her jacket pocket. The hope within her tells her the message is from her missing family--and the postcard gives her a good idea where to start searching. This is a one shot, set in the second half of season three, where Henry doesn't have his memories. What was Henry really thinking when Emma suddenly uprooted them after her breakup from Walsh? More importantly, what was going through Henry's mind, when his mom was out all night and brought some strange woman home to introduce them? Because Emma wouldn't just bring the mayor home to introduce to her son without a specific reason, right? This will be a quick recap of season 3-B from Henry's point of view and what must have been going through his mind.
