When Rose goes missing for a year, Ruth was almost certain she lost her sister for good, until she returns with a mysterious man. Rose and the Doctor allowed Ruth to travel with them until the Doctor regenerated. Rose was heart broken. Her Doctor was gone. So Ruth took the spot of his companion. Little did Ruth know that her twin sister wasn't her twin sister and that she would soon learn to love the Doctor.
