It's been 7 years. Klaus doesn't know that Elena is alive, and Ember is 13 now. If their plot works, then they'll be rid of Klaus for good and they can plan on expanding. But new enemies arise and old ones come back to play. How will the family survive when there is so much that could destroy them?
