Katniss, Clove, and Cato have known each other since forever. When they were five years old, and Katniss and her father were out in the woods hunting. They decided to take a break and sing to the mocking jays. But a little boy heard them because they were very close to the district 2 borders. He wandered into the woods closer to the beautiful voices. Soon he found the sources. Katniss was frightened of the blonde haired boy. She was scared that he would tell the peacekeepers. But Katniss' father asked if he wanted to join like it was no big deal. The boy and girl became very good friends and they would meet up with each other in the same spot every day. The boy's name was Cato. Months later Cato brought his best friend Clove. At first Clove hated the now six year old Katniss. But once she found out how good she was with a bow they started to get along. The three of them met everyday for ten years unless they absolutely couldn't make it. They were like family. They loved and cared for each other. To the two careers Katniss was the only one who loved them like family. Cato's parents hated him because his older brother had won the games. Cloves parents didn't care about her because she hasn't won the games yet. In district two winning is a big honor. You never truly get accepted in your family until then. What happens when all three of them get thrown into the arena. Will they make an alliance or pretend they never knew each other. Can Cato muster up enough courage to tell Katniss how he really feels about her or will Peeta beat him to it.
