Remora Stories

This is a story of Rose Bailey- a Cherokee native American- who has come to live in Remora, Washington along with her wealthy mother. Summer 1924: At the age of sixteen: Rose Dowell fell in love with a young man named: Jonah Bailey. (This story is all about when Rose in her teen except for the intro.)

A year ago, I left my family and all there wealth to find who I truly am. I have no idea what's a head of me and what will be behind be, but I do know that I must keep running. I cannot let any of my family members know that I am still alive, otherwise who knows what they'll do. All I want to do is comfort them since my brother has been put into a Morte Vivenda, but I know that cannot happen.  

I was high enough to see the sky through the wild waves - it was an incredibly dull grey mass, and it bored me even then. I could almost hear the freezing, wicked wind and see the snowflakes it dragged, too. The only thing I liked about it was the water. I can't say it was a beautiful for a last sight, but it became breathtaking when some blood - some of my blood - dyed the waters in front of my eyes red; even in death, I was a predator who loved the sight of blood. At first, she'd tried to stop the bleeding; then, I felt her tiny hands around my wrist as she tried to pull me deeper - to pull me to safety, to find our kin, to get me help - both of us knew I wasn't going to make it either way, but I liked her trying, I liked her unwavering and everlasting hope. I think she said something, too, but I either couldn't hear or didn't listen - it's not like that was going to make a difference anymore, anyway.
