Virgil's life up to this point has been, for lack of a better word, shit. It's his first year of college, away from home, away from his parents, and away from anything that has brought him down and made him the sullen, snappy person he is today. He's determined to get through the next few years without any problems, fulfill his goal of becoming a set designer, and have a decent life.
