That is the world Amelia Godt lives in. People can't, or more correctly, don't know they can open their eyes. The eyelids of people are transparent and that is what causes the black and white life. Amelia is put to the test when she finds out that there is a better life out there for her, and that she can open her eyes.

This is a narrative essay I wrote for AP English 11 and my teachers comment was that it sounded like part of a whole story and to keep it going. I personally didn't like it but you guys tell me what you think and maybe I'll expand and continue it. It's about a girl and her best friend marrying these men and them tragedy strikes and they have to make a tough decision.
