They both knew they couldn't be together. It made each other vulnerable to Trump's wrath and momentum. They didn't even know they both felt the same way. They both knew the debate would end in ruin. (Cover edit not mine)

A near-future political system fixed what seemed impossible. It ended gridlock. It reduced extremism. It worked. At the center of it all is an idea that changed everything: give part of Congress to an intelligent system designed to choose rational leaders and guide decisions beyond human bias. Fifty years later, it has done exactly that. Jennifer Alvarez is one of the people it chose. As she steps into Washington to serve, a new vote looms. Control to select representatives increases from 49% to 51% of Congress. To many, it is the final step toward stability. To others, it is a line that should never be crossed. But the system was never just code. Behind it lies decades of quiet decisions, hidden incentives, and a group of people who shaped it long before Jennifer was selected. Some of them sacrificed everything to protect it. Others have been trying to bend it ever since. As the vote approaches, one question becomes harder to ignore: If the system works, who is really shaping it?

The destructive force of socialism is something most Americans are never taught. In school, we are never taught what it means and what it has done to societies in the past. With the current events the United States is facing, I felt like I needed to go out and do something. I felt like I needed to contribute, but my options are limited as a high school student. After writing an essay for an English class, I realized that my contribution to my country could be through education. My main goal through these series of short informational stories is to educate my generation as young people in a way that won't put them to sleep. I want to help my generation be able to make reasonable politically-based decisions. I want help my generation and the future generation in a way that we do not inherit a horrible nation. I want to be a patriot and do what is right for my country. I want to make America greater.

High fiving his fellow chefs, Obama turned to look out the window at the rival burger joint. "Republicans..." he spat, clenching his fist angrily. "They're stealing all our customers!" Clinton smirked and laid a hand on his shoulder. "Not for long," he said quietly, tilting his head in contemplation. "I have a plan."

When Harrison Walker, mayor of a small Tennessee town, dies the entire community grieves his death. Until his passing, there had never been a time when a Walker wasn't in some sort of political office in the town of Loudon. Throughout his many years of public service his reputation had been nearly spotless, and his legacy set in stone, or so it seemed until his only daughter makes damning allegations against her father. The town, which has always treated the Walker family as royalty begins to become conflicted with the image they want to believe about the man whom they loved and the allegations made by his spinster daughter. Small town politics, gossip, and rumors threaten to tear town apart, and bring down the last of the Walker family with them. This is only a sample of a story I've been working on. I've lost steam over the past few months and I'm simply looking for opinions of the first chapter or two. I'd like to know if it is something that you would like to read more of or if it's something I should just put to the side for a while. Please disregard spelling and grammatical errors, this is a first draft I'm posting. I welcome all opinions, positive and negative.

Did you see the very important "third-wave" that I put in there? That changes the meaning of the whole title. Because I do believe in feminism (I like to think I give a d*mn about my own rights), but this third-wave feminism thing? "Not-workin" is as polite as I can phrase it.
