Individuality

Tyler Smith, a famous singer for covers, made a joke about anorexia a few months ago and Skyler has hated him since. "I'm sick, for depression is an ailment that devours, Like a virus spreading through my being, Leaving no part untouched, no semblance of health. Untreated, it spreads, weakens, drains. I'm sick, my depression remains a relentless captor, Enveloping, controlling, slowly destroying. A battle that feels impossible to win, A disease with no known cure." Embracing The Dark is a collection of mental health related poetry. I hope these poems help raise awareness, validate others, and make people who are struggling feel less alone.
