We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, expectations on each other, project judgments, high standards and overtime have created a society which has various rules, recommendations and regulations. We've defined what we think is 'normal' and created huge pressured to conform to that. It's amicable in a way, those who are prepared to be different, live a different lifestyle, break the mould and push boundaries. This one's about wanting to be free - enjoy!

Once upon a time in a far away land called Bloomswood lived a teenage girl called Opal. Opal wasn't like the rest of the basic b*tches in Bloomswood, unlike them she slayed to the high heavens and everything about her was always on fleek. But Opal couldn't show off this fleekyness to anyone due to her torturous parents who'd keep her locked away in her bedroom away from all civilization. She'd beg and plead to be let out for one night but her pleas fell upon deaf ears.... My pen stopped scribbling after 30 minutes of writing non stop. My eyes scanned the classroom. Noticing that most people hadn't bothered to write anything and the ones that did had wrote reams and reams. Reading back over my work I decided that maybe it wasn't wise to use the word bitches in a creative writing essay so crossed it out. But "basic girls" didn't have the same effect. Ugh, I hate having to water stuff down for school. Off topic, but imagine if someone wrote a story about my life. It would be hella boring as I don't do anything. Just like Opal locked away in a damn tower. Should call me Opunzel.

On a whim, I've just been dying to write more poetry lately, dying to get out of this writer's block...FUNK. I hope these aren't too dreadful. For all those people struggling with family identity and restrictions, I hope that my experiences provide some solace to yours. Rule no 1: Wise man is a general term that I use for all the people, other than my mom and dad, who have given me knowledge about the things that go on in my life. Rule no 2: All mentions of people excluding my immediate family will be vague, making this text harder to understand but bear with me because if my mom did it for nine months so can you. Rule no 3: This text is in no way connected to real life so if you feel like you know me when you're reading it; I'm definitely not the person you were thinking about. I might convince you otherwise but take it as a clever employment of verisimilitude rather than the truth that it is.
