Neil, a thirteen-year-old boy, is dubious about the demeanor of his parents in a specific period of the year, ever since he was five. His parents restrict him from doing the simplest of things during this time. Neil, being a curious boy discovers certain "things" or perhaps other souls in the house. Will Neil finally find the reasons for the unexplained restrictions?

15 year old Robyn Benson is forced on holiday with her family, even though she feels she's too old for family car trips and being called 'Ro'. Much to Robyn's surprise, her parents offer her 5 miles of freedom and a bicycle, which is all Robyn needs to keep herself entertained. It's not long until Robyn meets Jamie - the boy with the cigarettes in his pocket. He's different from Robyn, he's outgoing and does all the things he's not supposed to, the kind of things Robyn distances herself from.
