From the day Braxton Marlow realized his parents would never tell him what his christening curse was, he has plotted to seek out the faery who cursed him, Faery Splendor, and discover for himself what dreadful fate awaits him. However, just as Braxton is about to complete the final leg of the faery's quest, his father calls for him and his two brothers to take on a different journey. The goal is merely to catch a golden bird; it ought to be simple. But after a series of blunders, which really could have been avoided if Braxton's brothers had only listened to the fox accompanying them, the hunt turns into a chase across the lands of five different nobles. Worse still, the children of the Grant family have been kidnapped, and their fates seem somehow intertwined with the Marlows' quest.

This story was an entry in Target's OnceUpon Contest, because of this, and a 10,000 word limit all together, it is a lot faster than most stories. Fairy tales are so often boxed into good and evil. Just for fun I'm trying on a new set, a little darker in some corners, but still hopefully keeping the heart of the characters themselves. What if princesses were serial killers and fairy god mothers were really evil? Hmmm

On their way back home, an unexpected thing happens that changes Sara into a totally different person. She will fight with depression and new life challenges. Will she fulfill her dream and become an Egyptologist? And what will happen after she realizes her dream, what comes next? What will happen with her journey, will her company find the right Tomb they were looking for or the will find the wrong one...
