One is silently drowning beneath cultural expectations, hidden failure, and the fear of losing control over her future while trying to hold onto the values and faith that matter most to her. The other spent years lost before Islam gave him a second chance at peace. When their lives unexpectedly cross inside a hospital waiting room, neither realizes how deeply their presence will begin changing the other. Between culture, religion, family pressure, healing, and a slow-growing connection, both are forced to confront what truly matters before life chooses for them. _____________________ NOTE- Most of my photos are taken from Pinterest, so if the owners of the photos have any complaints or issues please let me know and I will remove them. ______________________ ***Author's Note*** Although parts of this story are fictional, the emotions behind it are real. The female main character is inspired by real experiences and emotions, while characters like Isa, Omer, and Yasmin were created through imagination and storytelling. Isa, however, came from a strange moment I still remember vividly - a quiet man working behind hospital doors during a late shift. We never spoke, yet something about the brief eye contact stayed with me long after. From that moment, a character slowly began forming in my mind. This story became more than romance. It became a reflection of longing, healing, faith, and the silent ways Allah places inspiration into our lives when we least expect it. I hope somewhere within these pages, you find comfort too. With love, Imani Vale

Zeke, a love cynic, never believed in love. His only obsession is the beauty of eyes. To him, they are the only part of a person that never lies, with its pure, honest and true form. Who knew that this obsession would lead his blackened heart to dwell deeper into a kind of love he knew nothing about? So when he meets Arisha Sumaiyah, whose golden-brown eyes bear strength and purity that he can't tear himself away from, Zeke begins to uncover something greater than he ever imagined. The deeper he looks, the more he realises, that her eyes reflect the beauty of her soul and peaceful demeanor despite having all odds stacked up against her. He thought he was falling in love with her and her heart, but the truth was far more profound - he was falling in love with the beauty of Islam. Sometimes, the purest love isn't between two hearts; it's between a soul and its Creator. Ideation: 2010s First draft: 2018 Published Date: 29 March 2026 Status: Ongoing Copyright © 2026. "Okay, I've been letting you slide long enough, Aya. He threw his hands up, frustration tightening his voice. "Why are you so angry at me? What did I do was so bad for you to not even look at me?!" The way he raised his voice made my chest tighten. I know I've been rude to him but I wasn't used to him yelling at me. I wasn't prepared for how much it hurt. "Do you even remember what happened in high school?" I looked up blinking back tears. Yusuf rubbed his beard trying to remember but got nothing. He frowned as he shook his head. "High school was a blur," he murmured. "After my parents died, I don't quite remember much and what I did in the past." He explained, so quietly that I almost didn't hear him. "Let me refresh your memory, you know your friends Joe and Alex? They used to picked on me, made fun of my weight, push me against the lockers, and calling me names. And what did you do?" I turned around, back facing him, as tears stream down my face. I didn't want him to see me cry. I couldn't. "You just laugh, as if it's the funniest thing in world, as if I was a joke to you! You didn't stop them, not even once." My voice cracked as I wiped away my tears. Yusuf was speechless, he didn't know what to say. I didn't expect him to. I just wanted him to know how much pain I was in ever since the day he walked back to my life. Aya Rayaan is a 20 year old girl who is in university and trying to be close to her deen. As their paths cross again, will the past drive them further apart? Or bring about a chance for healing, forgiveness, and unexpected growth?
