Food is heavily rationed now and normal people have to live by a strict routine of manual labour: snow shovelling on the surface; tunnel digging and tending to underground crops. The super rich live in luxury in fabulous ice palaces. The government uses an armed force called Intonuit Legionis to make sure that everyone is where they should be at all times.
