6 Friends, 1,000,000+ Infected... Will they survive?

It isn't easy in a crumbling yet evolving society- the one you would try to describe as "The Wild West" or "Old West" I'm sure. Life isn't easy, but we sure as hell can cheat our way to happiness.

The year is 1873. The world, Historia, is at its peak. To the North, explorers travel to new lands, and come back to the continent of Escia with findings of exotic animals and locations, unlike anything people have seen before. To the South, technological advances revolutionize science in its entirety, with the discovery of steam as a nearly limitless source of energy and power. To the East, philosophy and art have taken hold, ushering in a renaissance that has swept across civilized Escia. However, not all of Escia is civilized. Well, not as civilized. In the West, it is harsh and cruel. Numerous people are killed for greed, revenge, justice, any other reason someone may kill a person. The only thing that outweighs the sin is the sand. There are many tales told in the West. Some so grand that they have become legend. Others so insignificant, they become forgotten. This is one of those tales. This is the tale of six people and their lives in the West. They are not heroes, and many hesitate to call them good people. But in a land where you must kill or be killed, they may be as good as you can get.

Somewhat of an origin story for several characters we know, be it from Requiem or Icarus. This serves as a rough origin for The Mad King in the current limitless power we know him. This story takes place in the hidden content of Arcana, where Elijah was teleported during a chapter of Requiem. Finally some more Claire for me to write, cuz she was a lot of fun.

Dan is waking up just outside a small, dusty town. He is disoriented but quickly realizes he's in the wild west-themed virtual reality created by Lucid Enterprises. Alongside him are others who have recently uploaded themselves, and they are all directed toward a Welcome Center at the edge of town. As they gather, Dan feels a surge of excitement about his new life. He observes his surroundings and notices a woman, Nancy, who shares his eagerness but seems to be masking a deeper sadness. The group of newcomers is led into the Welcome Center, where they are greeted by Claire, a Lucid Enterprises employee, who begins to explain the next steps of their journey. Everyone receives the same basic set of tools: basic supplies, a revolver, spurs, and a small book that functions as his guide to this new world. Dan's curiosity builds as he imagines the possibilities ahead. However, Claire hints that the experience won't be the same for everyone, and not everything is as it seems.
