Sirena, a mer vampire with a penchant for collecting human objects, has waited for her sixteenth birthday to arrive so she could go to the surface and experience the glories of the human world. Little did she know the human world would be more complicated than she had ever imagined.

[Featured in Humor: Bitesize Funnies reading list] In this modern and untold version of Rapunzel's fairy tale, we meet Ruben. Like Rapunzel, he's stuck in a tower, and he may or may not be royalty. That's about where their similarities end. There's no prince to save him and no long hair for him to escape with. And his happily ever after is seeming more and more like a happily never after. ~~~

Veronica is a messenger in a war-torn version of American where fields are torn apart by trenches and families are torn apart by overseas battles. When she travels from the depot to Meemaw's to deliver some parts necessary for the repair of a tank, she unknowingly brings something dark and sinister with her. In this short-story retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, inspired by dieselpunk themes, werewolf folklore, and WWII propaganda, Veronica must vanquish the wolf herself. (Please be warned: while I cut out my usual cursing, this story features a fight scene in the middle.) 1st Place in Rewind The Classics Contest (WattpadFairytales, Horror, and WattpadPunkFiction sections)

It seem as if the stars have aligned but is it all but a dream? When she jet sets to Paris to film a new movie it's the break she needs to clear her head. And there she finds a possibility of happily-ever-after she wasn't expecting.

[Second Place Winner for Rewind The Classics contest!] ~ For the first time in her life, Rori was terrified. She hadn't felt anything like this. Her gasps for air were erratic and desperate and her body had begun shaking. She couldn't ignore it this time. As much as she tried to suppress it, her quivering lips couldn't hold back a whimper. "Listen..." He coaxed. "I don't wanna hurt you...but I need you to let go of the gun." His gaze had softened, and he had loosened his grip. Rori continued to clutch on to the gun tightly, and tried to maneuver away from his grasp. She had tried firing, but he grabbed her by the arm Rori dived for the gun, pointing it at him once again. She was breathing heavily, and her hand was trembling. Her heart pounded loud enough to echo in her ears. The wolf shot his hands up, his blue eyes pulsing with fear. Both of them were afraid. But one of them had a duty to do, and had promised to serve their country, even if it meant laying down their life. "You can't kill me, y'know..." He admitted, breaking the silence. "I've tried." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Agent Red is a top government spy employed by the country of Acasia. Her skills and abilities are top-notch, and she has never been unsuccessful. Her latest mission involves Project Wolf, an initiative created by the government to employ super-soldiers with enhanced strength. When the testing subject turns rogue and escapes the lab, Rori is expected to track the wolf and bring him back to custody. But, what happens when she learns that everything she's worked for has been a lie? ~ ((Modern Retelling of Red Riding Hood))

*** 1st place winner of the Rewind the Classics contest by @WattpadFairytales A retelling of the Brothers Grimm tale Hansel and Gretel. What if the story you were told was wrong? What if Hansel and Gretel never faced off with a witch in a candy house? What if evil lurked closer to home and the "witch" was their saving grace? Or what if none could save poor Hansel and Gretel? Told in a classic fairytale manner, this short story flips the original on its head and makes you question everything you thought you knew.

When drought and famine come to the planet Vidarr, Hansel and Gretel's father makes the difficult decision of sending his children to a group of roaming aliens. On the way, Hansel and Gretel get thrown off course and crash-land on a moon inhabited by a strange woman named Hexe. ***** After their stepmother convinces their father to send Hansel and Gretel to be enslaved by Talorian aliens, Hansel changes the course of their ship in an attempt to return to Vidarr. However, he fails to turn them back towards home. Instead, the new course eventually leads them into a meteor shower which all but destroys the ship. Hansel manages to successfully crash-land the ship on a nearby moon which strangely reminds them of Earth. They follow a path to the lone house on the moon and are greeted by a woman who appears to be human; she introduces herself as Hexe and invites them inside. Shortly after Hexe gives them freshly baked gingerbread cookies, Gretel begins to suspect that Hexe's intentions are less than pure, and tries to figure out how they can escape.

My entry in the Rewind the Classics contest. A twist on the classic Robin Hood stories. Robin Hood is a young woman working with her merry band to steal from the rich and give to the poor. In this adventure she gets the help from her old friend, Marius, who is recently home from the Crusades.

Meg Munro is stuck in a tower and in need of a drink. Jude Carlisle is the bartender charged with delivering said drink. The rest is a fairy tale. Sort of. This is a short retelling of Rapunzel written for the Rewind the Classics Contest.

Alicia needs to find the White Rabbit - but she's also in Wonderland. Trying to escape this wacky place, can she find the white rabbit in time, avoid the Queen of Hearts, explore Wonderland - and get home, all in one crazy adventure?!!
