Illumi Zoldyck is known for being a coldhearted and emotionless monster, even to his own family. Though there is one person that he can always count on that sees more than that, a man by the name of Hisoka Morow. When Illumi's parents, Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck, find out about their odd arrangement, they send Hisoka on a mission to prove his worth. Once Hisoka arrives back three months later, he is horrified by the state he sees his dear friend in. Taking Illumi, he turns to the group of people who he entrusts both of their lives with, the Phantom Troupe.
