Her tone was low but it was enough for Ben to hear her response. The young girl placed her hand atop of his, steading the tremble, keeping her eyes on him. As their hands joined, both of them felt enormous energy flow through their bodies. Rey recognized it from her stay on Ahch-to. It was the balance. A Reylo AU: The year is 1930. People are starving. Rey is starving. She was abandoned at a young age and when she ran from the stifling orphanage, no one seemed to care, for it was one less mouth to feed. She made her home in the train station and made her living begging for spare coins, as stealing was against her moral code. She stayed in the station because Rey figured that since she was left at a train station, her parents might frequent the train station. Rey's small delights in life came from the cat that lived in the station, imagining what her childhood could have been with different couples that come into the station, and her most favorite was to walk a block from the station and listen to the piano man. He was an old man. Bad fortune and becoming deaf had made him cynical. Unlike everyone else at the time, he was well off where money was concerned. He cared for a nephew whose parents had gone under in the Stock Market Crash. They searched for opportunities for work while his insane uncle took care of him. Ben hated everything about his situation in life. He hated his parents for leaving him. He hated his uncle for offering to take care of him. He hated his uncle for trying to teach him to play the stupid piano that he also hated. He hated that silly girl that always sat on the bench outside at 12:00 everyday to listen to his uncle play. (I'm sorry the cover isn't good, but it's all I could do, hope you guys enjoy this one)

Rey was a private investigator, she and her three best friends started a P.I. company. She was in between cases and growing bored, thankfully she had Finn's birthday to keep her occupied. She was planning a big party for him. While she was shopping for his birthday present she met a handsome young stranger. It was clear that he was interested in her as he made an awkward attempt at flirting with her. But the more she talked to him the more suspicious she became, she didn't think he was who he said he was. And it seemed that every time she was with him someone was shooting at them both. If only he would tell her the truth about who he was, then maybe she could get to the bottom of this. But she was beginning to fear that she'd gotten in way over her head. (This was inspired by an episode of Charles Angels)

"Everywhere Rey looked it was dark. It was as if no light had ever touched the rock of this particular piece of the castle. The foreign cobblestone floors were slick to the touch from leakages centuries old. Rey could not believe that this was what her life had become. In the castle she was forced to flee from, every part of the castle had been bathed in light. It was symbolic, really, of the country it ruled over. Alderaan was a kingdom of beauty and grace and gently rolling hills and laughter and music and festivals. Rey shuddered at how everything had gone so wrong."

Is fate written in stone, is destiny written in the stars or can it be changed? Rey believes that it can be, and as she is faced with betrothal to one of the three lords' sons, she attempts to change her fate and claim her true destiny. Probably AU. Short little story based around the aftermath of Kylo/Ben's (possible) defection. Reylo AF, probably bad, knowing me.

This story continues from The Last Jedi, and pretty much ignores most of The Rise Of Skywalker, though there may be a few nods to it. This story is also very different from most Reylo fan fictions, including my own. It's going to a little more fast paced than usual, but when I started it was supposed to be a one shot, so it'll probably be a short story.

This is my description of Rey and Ben's last Force connection in The Last Jedi.
