Rey's first day of school didn't happen when she was 4 years old like most of the kids in the town she grew up in. No, it happened when she was 17, her first day of senior year. Though excited, her transition from homeschool to public school is, unsurprisingly, far more complicated than she originally anticipates. When popular Phasma and her band of Clones start targeting her; a handsome young English teacher seemingly begins to make romantic advances; and Rey discovers her best friend is hiding something; she honestly believes it can't get any worse... Only it does. Haunted by strange dreams and visions, Rey discovers a mysterious psychic connection to quite possibly the most unpleasant person alive, and an ancient power awakening inside of her; a power she isn't sure is good or evil. Will Rey succumb to the whispers in the night, seducing her into the Dark Side? Or will she find the answers about her powers and the connection before it's too late? (This is my first fic, a High School AU that i wrote about two years ago. In that time, my storytelling has matured quite a bit (or so I'd like to think), and though I never finished this story, I've recently come back to it to finish & edit it!)

A powerful red laser of an unseen weapon obliterates the surface of a planet. Shrieks, whispers and screams and then the sound of a lightsaber igniting. A fiery red saber but behind that saber is Rey, her hand twitches and the saber becomes a double-pronged staff. A maniacal evil laugh cackles. Kylo woke with a start and sat upright on his bed. Written after the first trailer dropped and finished before the film was released. Contains references to previous films, novelisations and comics. BEFORE YOU EVEN READ THE DESCRIPTION >> Let me just get something straight. This was the first fanfiction I ever wrote. It's riddled with run on sentences. The "romance" is portrayed horribly. I hate what I've done to both Rey and Ben's characters. The plot is horrendous. Therefore, the ONLY reason it remains on wattpad is because for some reason, people enjoy it. Whatever floats y'all's boats, I suppose. Here's the description for the book that I wrote mid-January: Set as an alternative plot line to The Last Jedi, Rey and Ben Solo's force bond serves as an anchor to tie their love together. Yin and Yang, the two are balanced with the force. But- how can they fight each other when they're so clearly connected? This story is my wistful thoughts and feelings expressed into a fanfiction plot point, set directly after Rey and Ben have fought the Praetorian Guards in Snoke's chamber.
