Freshly graduated from medical school, Alexandra returns to Gotham for the first time in years, planning to complete her surgical residency, spend time with Alfred, and then hightail it back across the country to marry her fiancé. The Waynes seem to have other plans for their lost bird.

The baby's chest rose and fell faintly, each breath a Herculean effort. Beneath the child, the tarp was damp-not with water, but something metallic-smelling and sticky. Blood? Ramirez's stomach twisted. "Dispatch," he whispered hoarsely into his radio, forcing his voice steady. "Officer Ramirez, 9th and Mercer. I need an ambulance. I found an infant. Abandoned. Possible injury." . . "They found a baby in Gotham," Bruce finally said. "Abandoned in an alley. They ran a DNA test... and it matched you." Dick froze, the world around him suddenly quiet, as if the city itself held its breath. "What?" he said sharply, disbelief washing over him. "That's impossible."

It was just any other day but was it really, Gina Dupain was meeting an old friend at Wayne manor and that old friend happened to be Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne never became batman after his parents death. Dick Grayson's parents fell to their death when he was 2 years old instead of 8. Bruce Wayne takes in the young boy and raises him after witnessing the event. 4 years later Dick convinces his father to let him have a dog. The missing Flying Grayson, the one who's parents had tragically passed away, and the one who had tragically gone missing mere days later. Bruce Wayne had always been suspicious that he, little Mr. Assassin, was him. And Dick supposed he was, a millennium ago, when he'd been living as normal of a life as a boy living in a circus could.
