1464, the War of the Roses has been raging for nine long years. Two royal houses, Lancaster and York, fight for the throne of England. The young Edward IV has deposed his cousin Henry VI and taken the throne by force. Henry is still at large as is his hated Queen, Margaret of Anjou. I just lost my father almost 4 years ago during the Saint Albans' fight when I was only 10 years old. I used to live a good and modest life with my mother, my grandparents and my two little brothers but everything changed when Mother met the King. They got secretly married and he soon announced the news. Mother told me that the news was not well taken by everybody and that we should be careful now that we were at Court. The King asked my mother's hand driven by love while he was promised to another Lady, the Bonne de Savoie. My brothers and I needed protection, especially because we were not from a union with the King, so therefore, we were not royal. We actually all needed protection because my mother was pregnant with, we all hoped for, a baby boy. I knew she wanted to give Edward an heir as soon as possible. Richard III - Grace Woodville (i will let you choose how you see this character :) ) (English is not my first language so this story is a challenge for me, hope you like it ♡) I DO NOT OWN THE WHITE QUEEN OR ITS PLOT AND CHARACTERS. EVERY CHARACTERS AND THE PLOT BELONG TO THE CREATORS OF THE TV SHOW AND THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOKS. I ONLY OWN GRACE AND SOME ADDED CHARACTERS, THEIR PLOT LINES AND DIALOGUE IN THIS STORY.

After the death of his brother, King Edward IV of York, the Duke of Gloucester, Richard Plantagenet of York, locks his young nephews in the Tower of London and disinherits them from the crown. He exiles the Dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville and her daughters from the palace to another part of the Tower. During this same period, he and his wife, Anne Neville, become the new King and Queen of England. Their son, young Edward, becomes the new Prince of Wales and heir to the throne. At the beginning of his reign, the Duke of Exeter, Thomas Beaufort, arrives at the court of the new king with his wife, Margaret Beaufort, and his daughter from a previous marriage, Jessica Beaufort. And in the near future, the destinies of the new king and young Lady Jessica become intertwined in a web of court intrigue and foreign conspiracies during a turbulent time of warring roses...

Hatred between the two countries runs deeper than the channel rarely separating them from each others throats but nevertheless the cunning King Louis accepts the pact sealed by the marriage of his eldest daughter, Princess Geneviève of France, to King Edward's youngest brother - Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester. Haughty, vain, almost fanatical in her piety and trained to bear a crown, Geneviève has no love for her English neighbours and favours other candidates for her illustrious hand but nevertheless is thrust into the heart of the Wars of the Roses with few allies and a husband she quickly resents. Trapped in the land of the enemy where knives are readily drawn in the marriage bed, Geneviève must learn to survive using her beauty, wit and political guile to master the game of smoke and mirrors the English and French so love to play. Bound to the tumultuous heart of fifteenth century England, can Geneviève endure against the ever changing tide of the cousin's war and campaigns waged between wilful women with words no less sharp than their men's swords? How far is she willing to go for the power she craves, the position she believes God desires for her? And when rebellion rears its head against her new kin, which way will her loyalties lie and how long will they endure?

Princess Azula, the ambitious and ruthless younger sister of Fire Lord Zuko, hears from a mysterious peasant woman that she will one day be Fire Lord. Left widowed and vulnerable after the death of her beloved husband, Fire Lady Katara, looks to protect their children from an aunt who wants to get rid of them. When her two sons are captured and imprisoned, she sends her daughter, Princess Izumi, the rightful heir to the throne, into hiding. Fleeing into the Earth Kingdom under the protection of seven fearsome, female warriors, Princess Izumi settles in an abandoned shrine and trains for the day she can retake the throne from her usurping aunt. That is, if she can survive Azula's assassination attempts.

The King is dead. Long live the King. With King Edward IV dead, and the Kingdom left in disarray, as the fatal curse of the Carthusians plagues the royal house of England. Imprisoned in the Fortress of Carnarvon, Margaret Howard has fallen into disgrace. Her infidelity has left her estranged husband, Edward V of England, with neither heir nor wife. The web of scandal, murder and intrigue that once wove itself around the White Rose continues to afflict his descendants, as the destruction of his dynasty continues at the hands of fate.

For history buffs, like me, that always get weird looks when they tell History jokes and then have to explain the joke. Gets tiring after a while.

Well no, that's just the rumours you know. Richard had to do what he did to survive. Then he was blamed for things he didn't do.
