I used to live a good and modest life with my mother, my grandparents and my two little brothers but everything changed when Mother met the King. They got secretly married and he soon announced the news. Mother told me that the news was not well taken by everybody and that we should be careful now that we were at Court. The King asked my mother's hand driven by love while he was promised to another Lady, the Bonne de Savoie. My brothers and I needed protection, especially because we were not from a union with the King, so therefore, we were not royal. We actually all needed protection because my mother was pregnant with, we all hoped for, a baby boy. I knew she wanted to give Edward an heir as soon as possible.
