This work explores themes of mental health and social injustice through fictionalized introspection. It aims to express solidarity and not speak on behalf of any group. If any phrasing feels off, I welcome gentle conversation The date, names, and personalities are part of a fictional scenario. This fanfiction is inspired by the biography of R.E. The only character who stays close to the real person is Richey. I personally believe in a branch of String Theory (and quantum physics) known as the Many-Worlds Interpretation. It suggests that every time you make a choice, the Universe splits. All of these versions exist simultaneously, like pages in a book. You can only read one at a time, but in the endless library, every version of your life is already written. This is the story where he says, "I am still here", for everyone who has ever wanted to vanish-even once.

You're a member of an up and coming band, but are currently unsigned. Flyers begin to appear for a new competition, the Battle of the Bands, with the chance to be signed to a label. Nothing can get in your way, until you fall in love with a member of the rival band, Manic Street Preachers. Will you win the competition and his heart?

Young, beautiful scum pissed of the world

A view of what richey may have seen and felt watching the manics grow after he left, him deciding to go to one of their gigs. What his life may be like now, what he could be doing now, how he has changed. (From Richey's view point) * a note this will include references to his past self harm, anorexia, suicidal thoughts, alcoholism and his struggles with depression. All are references to his past which fans will already know.*

Richey joins the band. Loses his virginity to a stranger. Starves a little. Writes a song that feels too honest to sing. (they never performed it live) This is how condemned to rock and roll gets written: in gig toilets, travelodges, and the space between wanting to disappear and needing to be seen. A love letter to image, myth, and the worst years of his life.

Richey is days from vanishing. Nadia, half-forgotten by time, lands one breath too early, armed with a machine that can bend timelines but not undo trauma. She finds him. Not gone, not dead. just broken. What follows is a quiet, furious battle against inevitability: against myth, against James, against love's ruinous echo. As memory unravels and obsession calcifies, they both realize that survival isn't about going back - it's about choosing what not to become. Time fractures. Bridges burn. And not everyone gets out clean. TW: Self harm (cutting) / explicit sex scenes.

They laugh. They remember. Then one of Richey's old lines walks in and sits down at the table.

Time fractures. A girl arrives in 1991 Cardiff claiming to be from the future. She meets the Manic Street Preachers before the myth is written. before the loss, before the rot. Richey falls.
