When Rich's mom passed away, he started writing letters to her so they would still feel connected. His best friend pulls him out of the grief he feels for his mother, giving him a different kind of nurture and love.

Jeremy hated thinking about that, because to be honest? He was as in the dark there as Squip was. He liked to say he would turn hero in those final moments and save everyone, be the White Knight he always dreamed of being, but let's face it. Jeremy was no hero, no Knight. He couldn't even be a good underdog. Jeremy was, and always will be, a selfish loser. He knew it from the moment he took that damn pill.
