Richie is a prince - and a different one at that. Usually you'd think that being a prince is a dream come true, but not for Richie. He just wants a normal life, normal friends, maybe even a boyfriend. When he's given the chance to move to a place far away from his small kingdom in attempt to try and have a normal life, he couldn't be happier. The problem, however? He has to pretend he's not a prince. And lying? He's not so great at that. Although somewhat desperate for a boyfriend, he never actually expected to actually fall in love... Eddie Kaspbrak. The boy with the fanny pack, who actually likes Richie for Richie. And Richie can't tell him that he's a prince in a place on the other side of the world - and he wants it to stay that way. If someone were to find out, he'd have to move back home and never return. Richie finds out that not everything is as expected, and most definitely, you can never avoid being one of those who love.

Eddie did though. And that made Richie's heart warm. Eddie truly loved Richie, and Richie truly loved Eddie. Eddie loved Richie from his dark hair down to his falling apart shoes, he loved everything about him. He loved his ripped jeans, he loved his black nail polish. He loved everything that made Richie, Richie. Richie loved Eddie's freckles and his clothing style, his cute shorts and fanny pack always brought a smile to his face, but he'd never admit it. Richie meets Eddie and try's to help him leave his old life behind and make new memories with him in Derry. Both boys go through many struggles throughout their growing friendship to eventually realize they really matter more to Each other than they thought they did.
