Nicolas Berzatto's always been the baby of the family. So much so, that's exactly what they called him. Baby. The youngest son at fifteen, he always feels like the world is too much. Too loud, too mean, too intense, too sad, too angry, just too much. It gets his mind running, his thoughts dragging him into a pit of anxiety and stress. But at the same time, he always had his brother, Mikey, to pull him out of the pit, slips headphones on his ears, and tell him to "Shut Up and Listen." Now Mikey's dead. As a doornail. And Nic's unfortunately alive, left to navigate the world with his remaining two siblings and Richie Jerimovich. Carmy's back from New York, transforming The Beef into someplace unrecognizable, yet achingly familiar. There's a new chef named Sydney who helps to teach Nic that life's worth living, even in the pit. Nic doesn't know the first thing about restaurants, but he does know one thing. No matter how much you hate your family, they're still, unfortunately, your family. Not by blood, but by something else. For the first time, Nic has to pull himself from the pit, put his headphones on, Shut Up and Listen.

We humans are haunted by the almost immeasurable eternity. So we ask ourselves: Will our deeds endure the ages? Will strangers hear our names long after we are dead and wonder who we were?

Gabriella Berzatto was convinced that she had been poisoned by her mothers womb. Bitterness and a deep sadness had bled into her small heart as her body had formed in the cage she called her mothers womb. And even after being born, Donna Berzatto had her sharpened claws already deep in her youngest child. Carmen had told her at only six years old that their mothers love had dried long ago before any of the children had been born and that she should not expect something that would not come. At first, his words didn't make sense to her. How could those words make sense to a six year old? But now at twenty-one? They suddenly made sense to Gabriella. the bear f!oc f!berzattooc

Mikey was gone. Carmy needed chefs. Richie needed Mikey. Conrad just needed something to do. He didn't want school again. Didn't wanna explain to his dad why he quit. Didn't wanna sit in his room blasting Infinity on High thinking about if anyone would care if he disappeared. Then Richie called-well, yelled, because that's how he says he cares. Said Carmy needed help. Said The Beef was turning into The Bear. Said Conrad had to get off his ass. So he showed up. Carmy stayed quiet. Richie yelled. Sugar kept checking in. Conrad just tried to fade into the noise. He wasn't trying to fix himself. He didn't even know what that meant. But he showed up. And for now, that was enough.

When you move to a new town to outrun grief, the last thing you expect is a job in a chaotic kitchen-or Richie Jerimovich. Still raw from losing your boyfriend, you bury yourself in work, knives, heat, and long nights that don't leave room to feel. Richie is fighting his own demons: a divorce, a shattered sense of fatherhood, and the weight of realizing the life he believed in wasn't real. Two broken people collide in the pressure of the kitchen, where sparks fly, walls crack, and healing comes in unexpected ways. Sometimes love doesn't fix everything-but it can teach you how to breathe again.
