He races to find Tony and finds him begging for Chino to come and get him too. He almost loses his best friend. Tony consoles his best friend after knowing that Riff had come close to losing him. He knew how hard it must have been to know he came so close to losing his one and only best friend. Riff is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that he had almost lost his best friend Tony.

He's gone and he's never coming back. She was grateful for Tony trying to stop Riff from even having it in the first place that night. She thought that he must have known how things were going to go down at the Rumble. And if that's the case,he was trying to protect Riff and keep him alive that night. But just before the end of the Rumble,her boyfriend,the love of her life was dead. She remembers being told that Riff had not made it out of the Rumble to return home with her. Riff's gone and Graziella is devastated beyond repair and nothing can fix her broken heart. Having Riff return home to her would. She finds a letter addressed to her from Riff.

Once they got there and it was on, it felt like nothing could stop them from being the victorious gang. Just after he is pulled away from Bernardo, Riff is shocked to hear and see someone he didn't think would be there. What happens next will determine if love does conquer all.

If he had listened to Tony,none of this would've happened. If he had listened to Tony, the outcome wouldn't have been this. Things would have happened differently if the rumble never happened,it might have saved Tony the heartbreak of losing his best friend. It breaks his heart more when he realizes that if the Rumble was called off, it could have saved Riff's life. It might have saved Tony's best friend from that fate.

He didn't even see the tragedy coming but yet he did see the tragedy coming and knew that one day Riff would die either by being killed by a member of a rival gang or police. But to Tony,Riff was more than a gang leader,he was his best friend,his brother from another mother. Tony believed it when Riff had told him that he was born to die young. Riff died at 18. Tony always thought that Riff would die first but he thought they'd pass away together. If Tony could speak to him one more time,he would say to Riff,"I'm sorry I couldn't save you."
