The girls' big secret is a major part of all of their lives now, but none of them realised how much it was all taking a toll on Lewis. One night, Lewis heads to Mako Island to do some experiments and tests, still desperate for answers; and his life changes forever. Lewis should have known it was a terrible idea to go to Mako Island alone on the night of a full moon.

Rikki finds herself in a situation, confused about her returning feelings for Zane and her growing affections for the new guy, who starts to get suspicious of her secret. Bella starts to feel left out of the now group of four mermaids, trying to wrap her head around the fact that Cleo and Rikki never mentioned Emma to her. As their friend groups starts to fall apart, they find themselves changing, developing new powers and tail colors. And on top of that, some of their families are getting closer and closer to discovering their secret. Will the group completely fall apart, or will the changes make them stronger?

When Rikki learns about a sunken 200 year old treasure near Mako Island, she concocts a plan to retrieve it before the pompous Harrison Bennett can get his hands on it. But with an important local festival taking place, the girls have sworn to avoid the use of their fantastic mermaid powers to avoid detection! After a greedy film crew get wind of a local mysterious water creature, the girls (and Lewis) find themselves in hot water. A fun, short story based in the world of series one H2O.
