Hinamori Amu's twin brother Akihito attended a privet boarding Academy for rich children the past year. A heart's egg is born from a person's strong wishes or dreams that hatches into a Guardian Character. They stay with their Bearer, helping them achieve their true goal. However, when their Bearer gives up or stops believing in them, Guardian Characters return to their eggs or, even worse, become X-eggs. X-eggs are the hearts' eggs whose owners have given up and abandoned them. Now moving on to tenth grade, things begin to change as they undergo situations that, potentially, ruins their friendship. When she arrives at Seiyo Academy she finds that the girls at the school already have a prince and a group of 'guardians' that they worship and she literally jumps for joy! Sadly that is short lived when she gets roomed with the so called ' Prince' of Seiyo Academy and realises he's not a prince at all just a stuck up brat. Tadase Hotori the 'school prince' has never really been interested in any girl that is until he meets Yuki. There is just something about her that intrigues him.
