You can't get away that easily... After the Ring of Fire, things aren't all the same on the Octopod. Barnacles can tell there's unrest. There's pain in the beginning, and it will slowly go away...like a burn... but until then, they need to stay on the Octopod, cozy and safe, and close together...sheltered from the Ring of Fire and it's scorching burns.
