Sauron and Merci. A very powerful duo. Powerful together, than apart. A vow, a powerful promise, was made the day they were wed. If one was to die before the other, the other would follow soon after. The vow was made centuries ago... when Sauron was Mairon. The two have since become, immortal. Mairon turned to Sauron and Merci followed his lead in becoming immortal. The Witch King soon came along, and has drawn a wedge between the two. He fawns over Merci, to much for Sauron's liking. Soon, his jealously turned violent. Sauron takes his jealous rage out on Merci, leaving physical scars along her body. But she never strays from him, she loves him to much. One day she grows tired of his smart comments and beatings, and so she begins to pry. Causing him to break into a panic and cry and break down. Confessing his fears and truth. Could they, fix their problems? Or will she continue to turn from him?

What happens if Adar didn't actually die at his children's hands? Sauron decides to spare Adar's life, both because he wants his former subordinate back, and because he wants to use him to draw out Galadriel. Can Galadriel come to Adar's rescue and defeat Sauron? And what kind of a relationship will they be able to have if she does? As a side note, the story is called My Strange Persephone, because that's what Sauron calls Adar here. I kinda see them as being like Hades and Persephone (Sauron is a demon; Adar is an elf that was stolen from Lindon...), so that's where that comes from. Most of the story is based on the events of season two. Finally, fair warning, the story does get dark in places, but will conclude with a happily ever after for Adar and Galadriel.

In the twilight years of the Second Age, before war divided the world and darkness consumed Numenor, a lesser-known elven sorceress walked among the hidden circles of the Wise. She was Lúmirel, a Maia of the stars, an apprentice of Varda, and the bearer of an ancient grudge. She first crossed paths with Mairon, before he became known as Sauron, when he was still the Maia of Aulë. He was charismatic, brilliant, and maddening... and Lúmirel loathed him immediately. Their first words were not spoken aloud, but kindled across the aether: a clash of wills, ideals, and unspoken recognition. Lúmirel, born of starlight and woven from rebellion, found herself drawn to Mairon's mind-structured, burning, aching with a desire to protect all imperfection. In her, he discovered an irritant, a fracture, and a fascination. The feelings should have ended there. Only they didn't As the fires of war escalate, Lúmirel finds herself torn between the desire for vengeance and a doomed longing. She begins to realize what no elf dares to acknowledge: that the one who could ultimately destroy her might also be the only person who truly understands her.

The Hobbits know what Tolkien would think, even if some of the race of Men do not. Disclaimer - I don't own Tolkien's Middle Earth, and contrary to what the cast says, we fans of Middle Earth are allowed to say what we think of Tolkien's lore not being respected the way it should have been. And for me, it's coming in the form of satire, but anybody else who wants to do the same - you're free to do so. Just please, don't bash the individuals who like Rings of Power, particularly since some of them this will be, unfortunately, their first experience with Tolkien. Which, part of the reason I finally settled on doing it this way is that I know there are going to be some who don't know what's going on, and I'd like for them to actually be interested in checking out Middle Earth stuff that isn't Rings of Power. And this reflection is based on one of the Hobbit cast members asking what Tolkien would think of her, the Harfoot which means she's still clueless that the Harfoot aren't the ancestors of the Hobbit but a type of Hobbit. Oh, and let's not pretend Tolkien who hated the adaptions done when he was alive would be okay with this one.

Durin IV doesn't need his wife to speak for him. Disclaimer - I don't own Tolkien's Middle Earth. Yet another thing I noticed about the promotional material is how Durin the IV needs Disa to have agency despite being a Dwarf. And so I gave him agency in this flash piece. Edit - I realized there might be some missing context for those who've not seen the trailer, but I'll start with the relevant lore. Every Durin is named Durin because they are noted as being like the first Durin, yet Disa is effectively telling Durin that one day he'll be recognized by his people despite the fact him carrying the name Durin means he already is.

Gimli introduces Legolas to the mother of Fili and Kili. Disclaimer - I don't own Tolkien's Middle Earth or The Rings of Power. Despite there being many things that made me raise my eyebrows, I did find something I liked that inspired me to write something that was Middle Earth related, but not The Rings of Power related. Still, I was surprised because I'm not fond of the actress or Disa's accent, but I did love her telling Durin IV that Elrond will stay for dinner. I also see Durin IV/Elrond becoming popular because of their interactions. anyways, here is the one-shot.
