Rin is staying in Australia for the summer. Before he left, he realized he had feelings for a friend of his, Haruka. He knew Makoto was also quite fond of the young man. Will he be able to tell Haru about his feelings before it's too late? Or will Haru end up with the wrong guy?

Haruka Nanase and Rin Matsuoka used to be more than friends. They were partners, destined to grow up and marry one another, as they thought. When Rin moves to Australia to pursue his father's legacy, he leaves Haruka behind, forcing him into a slump that he can't get out of. Haru's friends become worried, and struggle to maintain their friend's life, but to what extent must they go? This is a very short story, but I really liked it and I wanted to post, so here I am! It's a little oc from the original Free universe, but I wanted to write something cute to recover from the angst I have been reading. The ship in this story is Rin x Haru from Free!!, please don't hate. If you don't like this ship, don't read. Maybe, in the future, I will eventually upload more one-shots, so stay tuned! For a while, we just sway with the water, our backs afloat with our faces dry in the sun. The moment is so serene that I could forget about the water for a few seconds. All that is here is Rin, with his purple hair flowing around his sleeping face in a wreath of wet strands. As I ponder whether it's real or from a box, he rolls his eyes open slowly. "Haruka."
