Colton Pearce is annoying, a flirt, and definitely not in Cassidy's ten-year plan. Then again, neither is falling in love. When their English teacher hires them to clean his grandmother's house for the summer, she discovers that there may be more to Colton than meets the eye. Through a valuable baseball card, strained relationships with fathers, and much dust, Cassidy and Colton might discover forty-seven uses for a paperclip and -possibly -even love along the way. So as a way of rebellion she skips school and chooses to pretend like everything is okay in her own fantasy bubble. Until confronted about her behaviour by her father does she then begin to seek out some trouble and finds the black market organization and later gets kidnapped. While she is in the hands of her captor does she then begin to realise that sometimes in order to get things done you have to let people in and get close to you regardless of what happened to you in your past.
