Dawncurl is born into perfection. Her mother always told her that life was a blessing and that she should never take it for granted. However, the roles will soon reverse when Dawncurl is discovered to be a skilled strategist and combatant. Not just skilled, but a prodigy. With this information she is finally given the praise she's always craved from her father. Along the journey, she finds out her family isn't so perfect and she will become the victim of it all. As a looming darkness unfolds, Dawncurl will fall under the hold of her father. Adoring his praise, she goes to grave measures to ensure that she keeps it, no matter the consequences; even if it means hurting the cats that she loves most.

A blind warrior with a stubborn streak, and a loner fueled by hatred and on the run from a past full of loss. A loyal warrior who would sooner lose her life than betray the leader that raised her, and a deaf warrior stuck on the outskirts of a Clan that refuses to learn her way of communication. These eight cats are at the center of a prophecy that first developed many seasons ago. Bramblepaw doesn't know what she wants to be. On one paw, Redpetal is a tolerable mentor and being a warrior was somewhat fun, but on the other, medicinal herbs, and the knowledge they hold, were much more interesting. But as the days go by, and Redpetal gets increasingly frustrated by Bramblepaw's dreaminess, trouble with focusing on things she finds uninteresting, and scatterbrained behavior, Bramblepaw comes to the conclusion that Leafwish, and the general role of being a medicine cat, would be far more understanding to her problems, and allow her nonchalance, if not outright apathy, to Clan boundaries to be seen as a different way of thinking instead of disloyalty or cowardice. Meanwhile, Brownfur reappears in a dream of Bramblepaw's, warning that the sickness was near to pouncing on ThunderClan. Bramblepaw must not deal with the weight of the prophetic warning, and mentally prepare herself for the blow, only hoping that she, or anyone she loved, won't catch the illness.
