This is just a random collection of poems I wrote in like the 8th grade! Some of them are new but anyways, read them! I hope you like them!!

Weeks of distance turn into consistency, and Miami gives way to Detroit as Lyla and Kenneth reconnect in her world. Their meeting isn't awe-inspiring or dramatic - just good company, playfulness, and the realization that some connections deepen when given time. However, even in the calm, Lyla begins to sense that staying may ask something new of her.

Spencer Evans has taken a huge leap and moved far away from home for college, even though it meant she would have to pay for school herself. Alone, independent for three years now, and a little sad, she meets Taylor Smith. He stumbles on her bus, drunk, yelling about how he hates his life. Spencer is drawn to him, and soon she has him sober and talking. They spend a long, magical night together talking about everything, alone on San Antonio's riverwalk. Spencer knows they'll part in the morning, but this is her one night to be herself and be accepted, and she plans to enjoy it.

A poem quite simply inspired by one of the most magical and soulful nights of my life so far - on board the Creole Queen paddlewheeler on the infamous Mississipi enjoying a Dinner Jazz Cruise under the setting sun with my family, June 2016.
