This is a short story from my 2003 collection of 21 short stories entitled "Our First Year." This collection describes with humor our first year living abroad in the small alpine village of Tret, Italy. The stories are shared scenes of life and personalities in a Tyrolean village from an American point of view. As a newcomer, life in Tret is explored through conflicting cultures, people and a variety of languages.
