Dennis Whitaker learned to read Michael Robinavitch before learning anything else at the Pit. He learned that his silence had different textures. That when I said I'm fine it was an armor, not an answer. Who carried the losses alone with the efficiency of those who had transformed it into a system. In a shift that starts like everyone else and doesn't end like this, Whitaker discovers that knowing enough about someone to really see them is one thing.
