I (obviously) do not own the characters in this story (like, not any of them, no OCs this time), the original novel in which this writing is based off of, 'Frankenstein', is written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. -- This fanfiction was originally just called "Walton", like how the original is just called "Frankenstein", with the narrative framing Walton's experiences. However, I have decided to change the title (and also the cover) to make it more appealing. -- Robert Walton has finally come from the Arctic back to England, and his dear sister Margaret is almost sick with anticipation and excitement at his arrival. However, Walton, on the perilous journey he has just embarked on, has had many secrets been unveiled before him, along with fresh ones arising to the surface. And now, he carries the greatest burden of all.

1818, London. Robert Walton, son of the landed gentry, is now living in the East End; where he spends every moment trying to improve his knowledge, and that trip to the Arctic is but a distant dream. Victor Frankenstein is newly arrived, having traversed the globe in pursuit of his creation. Nobody knows what happened at Ingolstadt, and perhaps they never will, since the details have become hazy to the scientist himself and he cannot bear speaking of it. Robert Walton always wanted a friend possessed of eyes that would reply to his own, and that is exactly what he finds in Victor, however; in a world of family secrets, obscured nature, grand balls, few persons of sense and much sensibility; who can say where this will lead him?
