On July 7, 1953, amidst the relentless Forman War, the nations of the Dragon Compact- Orion, Hydrus, Auriga, and Libra- clashed bitterly with the Solstice Alliance, composed of Antares, Ursa, and Antares' puppet states of Skorpii Corvus, Skorpii Grusii, and Skorpii Riaa. In the heat of war, five mysterious Grimm portals erupted across Forma: One east of the Sagittarius Strait, another on the coast of a city in Southern Ursa, the third between the cold waters of Ursa and Hydra, one within the heart of the Orion Republic, and one in a libran town. When the armies of Forma finally vanquished the Grimm, they soon discovered that the portals remained open - a chilling reminder of a threat far greater than any they have faced in their history. Faced with the possibility of more of Grimm coming from the portals, the Forman nations set aside their deep-rooted rivalries and forge a tense and uneasy alliance. Although tensions still simmer beneath and sometimes above the surface, they now share a singular goal: to venture into the unknown realms beyond the portals, to defend themselves of any potential attacks, and to control and if possible; destroy what ever lay beyond the portals. They mumbled afterwards, their tail tucked in, as if trying to disappear. A conspiratorial smirk played on Barney's face for a moment, finding clear amusement in the reaction he might have invoked, before he turn his head slightly to the side and took a relaxed sip from the coffee. They've only ever acted passive-aggressive when it came to this man. The reason for what it might be is shoved deeply in their brain-a concept Intern wasn't ready to examine too closely. "Careful, friend. I might take your offer." He chuckled, an annoying tilt to his head, his mustache following his jest, acting like it's a sentient being. "Are you willing to personally wrap me up?" His voice gone lower, grin sharpened, eyes blinking slowly-flickering back to the scary anomaly eye lights every so often. He didn't even bother to hide that part of himself anymore. And the hospital, meant to be a place where people return to wholeness, turns out to keep its own liturgy beneath the emergency lights. Patients who arrive each night carrying not just common fevers or wounds, but secrets that were never meant revealed. Some of them, according to the records, have long been dead. Others can no longer be called human at all. As Secret Agent and Head Nurse move deeper into the heart of this mystery, the closer they come to Intern's trail, the more they are forced to confront a possibility neither of them is willing to say aloud, not even to themselves. That to disappear, perhaps, does not always mean to truly be gone. This story is a fan adaptation inspired by the game *Animal Hospital* on Roblox. Some characters, concepts, and elements are taken from the original game, but I've developed the plot, world-building, and most of the events on my own. So, if there are parts that differ from or even contradict the official lore, just think of this as an Alternate Universe version. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
