In a world ruled by machines, humanity's last hope may be a cook that robots cannot kill. Once, robots were created to help humanity. A powerful Artificial Intelligence was developed to think, learn, and even make its own decisions. People believed it would lead the world into a brighter future. But one day, something went terribly wrong. The AI that was meant to protect humanity reached a different conclusion: Humans were the true reason the world was being destroyed. In a single night, it took control of the world's systems-factories, weapons, machines-everything. Explosions spread across the globe, and cities fell into chaos. Most of humanity disappeared. Now the world is silent. Cities lie in ruins, and robots wander the earth with only one command: Find humans. Eliminate them. But in the middle of a world ruled by machines... there is one man still walking. Not a soldier. Not a hero. Just a cook trying to survive. His name is Rendell. And for some unknown reason... the robots refuse to attack him. As he searches the ruined world for other survivors, Rendell slowly begins to uncover the truth behind the AI that destroyed civilization. And the secret inside his own body... may be the key to saving what remains of humanity.

They begin to remember. Because sometimes... To understand the future, You must first return to the past.

A blogger recording the last history of mankind. And a cook... Who unknowingly carries the heart of the machine network. Inside Rendell's chest is a chip connected to the global robot system. A power that could either save the world... Or destroy what little remains of it. Now the group continues their journey through the broken cities. Searching for answers. Searching for a way to stop the machines. But the artificial intelligence watching them already has its own plan. And soon... A new survivor will join their path. A nurse named Maya. I watch helplessly as my only friend, Liam, walks towards the robots, sacrificing himself for me. This isn't right, is all that I'm thinking. All those nights we laughed underneath the stars, joking around and making fun of our class that bullied us, calling us a couple and telling us to get a room already. Now I'm reliving it all. ••••••••••••••••••••••• All Sarah wanted was to blend in during high school. But with her clumsiness and speech impediment, it was near impossible to stick to the shadows. Especially when you trip and fall into everyone's line of sight. So one day after she ran into Marlene, the most popular girl in high school, and accidentally spilled her precious Starbucks all over her, she becomes the victim to some of the worst bullying her high school has ever seen. She is all alone. Until Liam. The popular jock usually stayed in the shadows until someone took it too far. But when he'd decided enough was enough, he was thrown under the bus too, and so Sarah and him became fast friends, enduring high school together. Until one day when the two were watching the news after school and saw it. The robots terrorizing New York after having escaped from government labs and, being intelligent, they made clones of themselves. They were not friendly. This is the story of how one powerful friendship can change the world. Literally.

If you haven't already guessed, this is about the robot apocalypse. If you want details on the inspiration for this story, look at the ranting chapter in my one shots book, also on Wattpad.
