There are several things that could cause an apocalypse - a worldwide war, plague, zombies even. No one expects mutated monsters AND a robot uprising to both team up and end everything. The two took out over 90% of the world population in the span of two years. The first to arrive were the mutated monsters. A few mammal species caught a highly contagious disease that mutated them and caused them to grow much larger. They didn't take too kindly to us humans trying to quarantine them and kill them so they fought back. That was the first year. Second year is when the robots emerged, originally manufactured for the public as home assistants, but reprogrammed as pest control for the mutated creatures. However, there was a glitch in the programming and they ended up turning on their creators. That's when everyone gave up and just tried to survive. It's been six years now. Asher, a stubborn loner, decides to go off on his own. He leaves the safety of the boarded up shopping mall he and a small colony of people were using as a safe haven. What he didn't hope for was to meet a girl out in the wild of the apocalypse, let alone be saved by her. And Emma, she certainly wasn't expecting to find such an oblivious idiot waving around a gun like a dinner bell.

After the harrowing defeat of the Absolute Solver, N, Uzi, and V return to Outpost 3, each grappling with the deep-seated trauma they endured. The once bustling outpost now feels like a shadow of its former self, with an air of unease hanging over its inhabitants. V, seeking solace and a semblance of normalcy, has begun a new relationship with Lizzy. Their bond offers V a glimmer of hope and a chance to heal, but the scars of the past are not easily forgotten. Uzi, on the other hand, finds herself in a relentless struggle. Despite her best efforts to project strength and resilience, she remains haunted by the lingering influence of the Solver. Its dark presence casts a constant shadow over her daily life, making it difficult for her to move forward. The unsettling atmosphere at Outpost 3 is further compounded by persistent rumors of a mysterious figure lurking within its confines. Whispers of this enigmatic presence spread like wildfire, with no one certain of their motives or identity. The fear of the unknown adds to the already tense environment, leaving everyone on edge. Meanwhile, J has abandoned her mission to exterminate worker drones. She has chosen to isolate herself near the remnants of the Cabin Fever Labs, which were pushed down into the ground during the chaos. Her self-imposed exile is a testament to the profound impact the recent events have had on her psyche. At the same time, Tessa's fate remains a tragic tale. Once a human, she was transformed into a worker drone by the Solver. However, before she could be fully turned into a disassembly drone, the Solver's influence took hold of Copper 9 from Earth. This transformation has left Tessa in a state of limbo, her humanity stripped away and replaced with the cold, mechanical existence of a drone. Despite this, her deep connection with V drives her to Copper 9, hoping to find a way to reclaim her lost humanity and reunite with V.
